Murano glass is hand-blown art created on the Venetian island of Murano, where master glassmakers have shaped molten glass over the flame for more than seven centuries. Each authentic piece is mouth-blown and worked entirely by hand using techniques such as sommerso, filigrana and millefiori — never moulded, never mass-produced.

Authentic Murano glass is made only on the island of Murano, is signed or marked by the artisan, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Genuine pieces show the natural imperfections of mouth-blown glass — tiny bubbles and one-of-a-kind variations — that mass-produced “Murano style” imitations never have.
